Big buck down! Congratulations to Erin Bitner of Scottsdale for taking this big Arizona Whitetail. Approximately 375 yards with a 100gr TSX from a custom Remington in 257 Weatherby Magnum. An unofficial green score of 119+. Nice!
Well, if you don't know what a Coues Deer is, this is an extraordinary example of one. This is what we have been looking for the past few months. This is why we spend a lot of money on top notch optics and this is why we spend hundreds of hours sitting behind them rain or shine, hot or cold, sun up to sun down. Finding these little bastards is not easy, finding one this big is even tougher, finding it on state land is rare. Well done Erin. All that hard work paid off.
We've known Erin for many years and were fortunate to have spent a lot of time in the field with him on this hunt. Good times, good memories, good stories. I am just sorry I wasn't able to be there when he pulled the trigger. However, I will happily take credit for two things that helped make his hunt successful. First, I turned him on to Kenetrek Boots for his size 14s and second, he's been using my flatbed trailer. I know, that ain't much but it's as close as I will come to a buck that big this season so I am runnin' with it.
Anyway, I know I speak for Cody and Cody when I say again, congrats and damn that's a nice buck.
